About Me: I am the
middle of seven children and a native of Arizona. I joined the church
when
I was 13 after being
introduced by a friend. The principles and values taught through
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints couldn't have come
at a better time. It has been my foundation through my life and
has helped me to become the person I am today. I have deep love
of learning and enjoy seeking out anything that captures my attention
and that is applicable to my life. I love to read book after book
and I think I might be slightly addicted to buying them. Before
Maxwell came along I would often take classes at the community college,
some of my favorites thus far have been photography and sewing. Now
I find myself looking at all the different mom and tot classes. So
far we have taken swimming, a gym class and will be signing up for
a music class. As a child I was very active in music (I played the
flute, tenor and bari saxophone, and taught myself to play the piano).
I have been athletic all my life and enjoy swimming when its warm
and running when it's cold. I like keeping “to do” lists
around the house as I find it helps me get more accomplished and
I’m constantly getting ideas of things we can do to improve
life or to have more fun. I feel that being a wife and mother are
the most important roles I have in life. I feel so grateful to my
Father in Heaven for allowing me these privileges of being a wife
and mother and through the adoption process have come to trust Him
more than I had before.(scroll

Merrill's thoughts about Mary: I
must say that I am one lucky guy to have Mary as my eternal companion.
There are many good thoughts I have about Mary. She is a great mother.
She gives Maxwell plenty
of
attention; together they read books, sing songs and make each other
laugh. I know Max will turn out to be
very bright
because
of her
daily efforts.
Our
future
children
will be lucky to call her mother. Mary has a love of reading and
spends a lot of time expanding her imagination and knowledge reading
classic literature. She is
motivated to create a home that will provide the very best for the
education of her family. Both she and I plan to raise our children
in the gospel of Jesus Christ. These are some
of the qualities I love about Mary: Her contagious happiness,
her pure innocence, how she acts upon the spirit when she gets promptings
and the way she can turn a bleak situation into something bright.
Some of Mary's Favorites:
Favorite Book: It's a toss
up between Anne of Green Gables and Jane Eyre.
Both are amazing heroines with characteristics
I hope to emulate namely Anne's passion for
life and Jane's unwavering conviction to follow
God's commandments despite her personal desires.
Childhood Memory: After
my parent's divorced and my Father was raising
us 4 kids on his own and he turned to couponing
to save money. He had a whole shoe box full
of alphabetically
organized coupons that he would tote around
with him while shopping. One day after one
of our shopping expeditions we loaded up
the
car and started driving home. The
next thing we see as we drive away is a snow
storm of coupons flying around
behind us because my Father left the shoe
box of coupons on top of his car. He still
talks
about it today and we all have a good chuckle. Color: I am in love with
the color green - it reminds me of nature
and that
is one thing I always want to be closer too.
Scripture: I would have
to say the whole chapter of Matthew chapter
5
where Christ is sharing the Be-attitudes.
They remind me that there is a higher law
we can
live up too that is more fulfilling.
Quality about my spouse:
Well if you know me - you know I talk...
a lot.
Not as much as I used to, but I do talk
a lot and Merrill will listen with out interruption.
And he will do this with just about everyone
he meets. He will always ask them questions
and then listen... really listen and with
sincerity. This is one quality that really
attracted me to
him
while
we were
dating.
Movie(s): I can't say
I have a favorite - favorite movie. But
I can
say
I love just about any movie that is a
"feel good" movie. You know.. the one where
you
walk away and want to be better or you
just feel inspired from it. I'm all about
those
- here
are a couple that I enjoy Gifted Hands,
The Other Side of Heaven, Invincible,
Radio, Blind Side, etc.
Movie Munchies: POPCORN!
I love POPCORN. Especially drenched in
butter and salt - ummmm that sounds
really good right
now
T.V. Show(s): Hands
down The Cosby Show... I want to own
all the
seasons. I love how it shows/teaches
what good parenting
is and how to handle kids without breaking
a sweat. Plus they make me laugh out
loud. Type of Music: I can't
say I love one type of music - what
I can say
is I love music that makes me want
to get up and
dance.. I am determined to have a
family dance off as a holiday tradition..
just not sure
which holiday yet - so I'm working
on compiling a list of songs that
will
make
the cut
- so far all I have is Tio's song
I came to
dance
- I'm sure there are more - I just
can't think of them right off the
top of my
head
Fruit: Any sweet
crisp apple - There is something
extremely
satisfying about taking a
big bite out of a juciy
ripe apple
that is sweet and crisp - I hate
when I get
a mushy apply - ruins the whole
experience
Favorite Food:
Spaghetti - I could eat it everyday
for
a week and then I would need
a break for about
a week
and could eat it again for a week
- I
like to add extra veggies to
it to make it
crunchy -
carrots, celery, onions, etc
Dessert: I'm a
sucker for chocolate chip cookie
dough -
I will make
a whole batch of cookies and
freeze the dough just so I can
eat it through
out
the week
.
Shopping Stores:
Ummm I'm pretty much in love
with Target.
They are
my first go to store for pretty
much everything in my house.
Favorite thing about Merrill:
I love hearing Merrill laugh
- you know those good hardy
type laughs
- it makes
me happy
because he usually laughs like
that after I say something
that wasn't
meant to
be funny (usually when I'm
sulking) but he
thought
it
was funny and then I don't
feel so sulky.. did that make
sense?
